Steamranger Steamranger Heritage Railway operates an extensive collection of former South Australian Railways broad gauge rolling stock over the picturesque Mt Barker to Victor Harbor line.
Pichi Richi Railway Pichi Richi Railway Preservation Society operates an extensive collection of former South Australian, Commonwealth and Western Australian Railways rolling stock on the oldest remaining section of the famous narrow-gauge old Ghan railway, passing through spectacular Flinders ranges scenery between Port Augusta and Qourn.
Steamtown Heritage Rail Centre Located in the mid-north town of Peterborough, Steamtown Heritage Rail Centre allows visitors to discover what was once country South Australia's largest maintance depot, including the world's only triple gauge turntable. In 2009 the museum underwent a $1.25M upgrade providing new visitor facilities, audio visual displays and a spectacular sound and light show which brings to life the locomotives within the largest roundhouse still standing in SA.
Adelaide Tramway Museum The Adelaide Tramway Museum, located at St. Kilda, features historic examples of horse drawn trams, trolley buses and 20 preserved electric trams. Visitors can enjoy unlimited tram rides along a 2km tramway linking the museum to the St. Kilda foreshore where visitors can disembark and visit the adventure playground or Mangrove trail and Interpretive Centre.
Heritage Rail South Australia The Heritage Rail South Australia provides a central body to represent organisations involved in preserving and exhibiting our rail and tramway heritage. The organisation serves in a consultative and advisory capacity to its members and functions as their representative to the State Government, Local Government and government instrumentalities.


COMMERCIAL RAIL OPERATORS

Australian Rail Track Corporation ARTC currently has responsibility for the management of over 10,000 route kilometres of standard gauge interstate track, in South Australia, Victoria, Western Australia, and New South Wales. ARTC also manages the Hunter Valley Coal Rail network in New South Wales along with other regional rail links in New South Wales.
Adelaide Metro This is the South Australian Passenger Transport Board web site. It contains information about all the public transport services operated around Adelaide. It is a useful resource if you want current timetable information.
Great Southern Railway Operator of the Ghan, Indian Pacific and Overland passenger services.
Genesee & Wyoming Australia Operates many bulk product trains (grain, limestone, gypsum) within South Australia, and all freight services between Adelaide and Darwin.
Pacific National Pacific National, owned by Toll Holdings, operates the majority of intermodal freight services throughout Australia.
SCT Logistics Operates intermodal freight trains between Parkes (NSW), Melbourne and Perth.
Specialised Bulk Rail Operates iron ore freight trains between Coober Pedy and Port Adelaide.
QR National QR National operates a number of coal and intermodal trains on the east coast, along with a freight service between Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.
Coote Industrial Coote Industrial is a parent company to a number of rail industry services, including railway operator South Spur Rail Services (who operate work trains in SA), rail personnel recruitment, contracting, training and rail accreditation services through Momentum Rail, and rolling stock manufacturer Gemco Rail.

SA Retired Railway Employees Club Inc The home of the Retired Railway Employees of South Australia. Meetings are held fortnightly. New members are always welcome.
